Urban Stormwater Wetland
Moncton, New Brunswick

Project Summary:
The urban stormwater wetland was commissioned by the City of Moncton engineering department to cope with significant stormwater pollution into the City '92s beloved Centennial Park. A 6 ft. stormwater culvert was diverted into a new 5 acre stormwater wetland. The wetland was designed for a minimum of 48 hours of retention time to uptake and treat nutrient laden stormwater before dispersing back into Jonathan Creek. The wetland was constructed in 2002 and there is currently a scientific study ongoing to monitor the longterm success of the facility.
