Blue Atlantic
Project Summary:
The Blue Atlantic visual impact assessment was produced to ascertain the extent of the visual impact of the proposed Blue Atlantic facilities on surrounding landscape character. The assessment was completed using 3D computer modeling to simulate existing and future conditions. A scaled model of the facility was constructed for insertion into the 3D model. The extent of vegetation coverage was taken from the Province's GIS dataset. Two plant objects were used to assess visibility. These included the top of an average building (8m high) centrally located in the facility and the top of the incinerator stack (76.2m high). These features provide a good representative range of facility visibility, notably, the highest point and the average height of structures.
