Tryon River Stream Restoration

Ekistics was challenged with restoring an extremely degraded reach of the Tryon River. Significant erosion in the watershed had caused the river width to enlarge to 3 times its original width and depth had decreased so significantly that water temperatures became unsuitable for fish. With watershed management measures put in place, the plan called forreducing the width to depth ratio and instream habitat improvements.
